Infotelmed associates are drawn from the health and business sectors as well as academia.  Photos below show three of Infotelmed's associates: Jocelyne Picot (top), Natalie Kishchuk and Lorna Heaton. 

 

Infotelmed associates have worked in many countries around the world including the Far East, and Latin America.  Each one of us is fluent in at least two languages but the expanded list includes Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, beginning Mandarin and Spanish.

Infotelmed's president, Dr Jocelyne Picot, has over 20 years' experience in the field of telehealth and possesses a MA in Educational Technology and a PhD in Communications. She is a founding member of the Canadian Society of Telehealth, a frequent speaker at local and international meetings on telehealth related subjects. She has completed a number of publications on the subject of telehealth.  Leading a team of researchers and consultants, she managed telehealth project evaluations and completed strategic and operational plans and needs assessments for provincial and federal governments, associations, band councils and other organizations.  Named Canadian University Fellow in the Graduate Program in Communications at McGill University in 1998 (Montreal), she was subsequently appointed adjunct professor until 2008.  From 1998-2005 she was telemedicine consultant to the Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal. 


As Infotelmed's principal evaluator,  Dr Natalie Kishchuk, an independent evaluation consultant and researcher, has directed a number of  telehealth evaluation studies for provincial and federal Departments of Health and other organizations in Canada and in other countries.  She holds a PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Waterloo and has documented many evaluation studies of complex public health programs and telehealth projects. With over 20 years' experience as a specialist in health program evaluation,  she has worked with federal and provincial government departments and agencies, as well as with regional health boards and social service agencies and community-based groups. She is an experienced project manager and facilitator, and holds an appointment as Professeure adjointe de clinique in the Département de médicine sociale et préventive of the Université de Montréal.

Dr Lorna Heaton is associate professor in Communications at the Université de Montreal where she obtained her PhD in Communications.  Her work focusses on organizataional and interorganizational issues in the implementation and use of information and communication technologies.  She has completed contracts for the evaluation of organizational requirements for information retrieval and personalization, organizational culture during periods of intense change and optimization of Web 2.0 and Wiki configurations.  She was post-doctoral fellow in Communications at the University of New Mexico (1997-9) where she undertook research on technology transfer with Everett Rogers. She has previously worked in Japan and Africa and is fluent in Japanese, English and French and has a working knowledge of Mandarin.

Luiz C Esteves is head of LCE Communications, a technology and management consulting company established in Montreal since 1990. From 1973-81 he was Assistant Professor and Researcher in advanced transmission systems at the Catholic University in Rio, and later, Manager, Space Missions at the Institute for Space Research in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in telecommunications. He authored an engineering textbook published by McGraw-Hill in 1980. Since the early 1990s his consulting services in networking technologies have included ICTs and, in the past several years, mobile voice and video technologies in health care assisting both established and startup telehealth companies. Luiz is member of the Canadian Society of Telehealth, the Institute of Management Consultants USA, and sits on McGill University’s Business Management and Entrepreneurship Program Committee. He is CEO of e-KSS™ Inc., a non-profit organization devoted to health care improvements in remote communities of the Amazon rainforest through the benefits of telehealth network solutions.

Sarah Clark is Infotelmed's Marketing Associate.  She has been product manager for a number of organizations including Nesle Canada, Mark Anthony Brands and Ernest & Julio Gallo. With extensive experience in developing business plans, market studies, promotional programming, budget management and new product launches, she has conducted studies of the telehealth industry, notably a study for Industry Canada.  She has a BA from McGill University and a B Comm from Concordia University. She served as a member of the Board of Directors of the West Island Women's Centre, as Director of Fundraising and then Director of public relations.  She is currently Treasurer on the Board of Directors of Parksites Preschool, a not for profit co-operative.

Le Dr Jocelyne Picot. présidente d'infotelmed, possède plus que 20 ans d'expérience dans le domaine de la télésanté et détient un MA en technologie educationelle et un PhD en communications.  Membre fondatrice de  la Société Canadienne de télésanté, elle a souvent été conférencière à des réunions locales et internationales au sujet de la télésanté et elle a plusieurs publications à son nom.  A la tête d'une équipe de chercheurs et experts-conseils, elle a completé des évaluations de projets, des plans stratégiques et opérationnels et des analyses de besoin pour des associations, les gouvernements de plusieurs provinces Canadiennes, des collectivités de Premières Nations ainsi que Santé Canada.  Accordée la distinction de "Canadian University Fellow" dans le programme de 3e cycle en communications de l'Université McGill en 1998, elle fut ensuite nommée professeure associée jusqu'à 2008.  De 1998-2005 elle a été la conseillère principale en télémédecine au Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM).

À titre d'evaluateur principal, Dr Natalie Kishchuk, une consultante et chercheure indépendante, a dirigé plusieurs évaluations de télésanté pour des ministères de santé provinciaux et fédéral et d'autres organisations au Canada et ailleurs dans le monde.  Elle détient un PhD en Psychologie sociale de l'Université de Waterloo et elle a completé un grand nombre d'études d'évaluation de programmes complexes en santé publique et en télésanté.  Avec plus de 20 ans d'expérience comme spécialiste en évaluation de programmes dans le secteur de la santé, elle a travaillé avec des régies de santé ainsi que des agences de services sociaux de gouvernements provinciaux et fédéral et des groupes représentant plusieurs collectivités.  Elle possède une grande expérience en gestion de projet et a souvent été appelé à faciliter les discussions de groupes-cibles.  Elle est Professeure adjointe de clinique dans le Département de médecine sociale et préventive de l'Université de Montréal.

Professeure agrégée au Département de Communication de l’Université de Montréal, les recherches de Dr Lorna Heaton se concentrent sur les dimensions organisationnelles et interorganisationnelles de l ’implantation et l’utilisation des technologies d’information et de communication. Elle a exploré les questions de culture organisationnelle dans un contexte de changement radical, et conduit des évaluations en vue d’optimiser les dispositifs et configurations Wiki et Web 2.0 pour favoriser l’innovation communautaire. Elle a mené des recherches postdoctorales sur le transfert technologique  à l’Université du Nouveau-Méxique avec Everett Rogers. Ayant déjà travaillé au Japon et en Afrique, elle parle couramment l’anglais, le français et le japonais. Elle a des connaissances de base en mandarin. Elle est membre de l’Association canadienne des communication et le 4S (Society for Social Studies of Science).
