Infotelmed staff and associates represent a combination of expertise and experience.

 

Infotelmed's president, Dr. Jocelyne Picot, has over 20 years of experience in the field of telehealth and telemedicine and possesses a MA in educational technology and a PhD in Communications. A frequent speaker at international meetings on health telematics, she undertook major studies of the telehealth industry in Canada. Leading a team of researchers and consultants, she completed a number of telehealth strategic and operational plans, needs assessments and project evaluations for public sector organisations.

 

From 1998-2005 she was telemedicine consultant to the largest French-speaking teaching hospital in Canada, le Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal.  She is an adjunct professor in Communications at McGill University and a founding member of the Canadian Society of Telehealth. Infotelmed's associates are drawn from the university and business sectors and represent a wide range of expertise, experience and knowledge. The company operates in both official languages of Canada. 

Infotelmed is a member of the Keston Group, an international group of consultants in medical physics, telehealth and radiological informatics.

 Infotelmed Associates Natalie Kishchuk, (Natalie Kishchuk Recherche et évaluation inc.), Principal Evaluator Dr Kishchuk,  working as an independent sub-contractor, has been Infotelmed's Principal Evaluator in a number of telehealth projects.  She completed the First Nations Telehealth research project and went on to direct  the evaluation of complex telehealth projects involving remote, northern communities. With over 15 years of experience, Natalie Kishchuk is a specialist in health program evaluation.  Previously Vice President for Québec of Ekos Research Associates (1996-1998) and Director of Organization and Evaluation of Preventive Services for the Montreal Department of Public Health (1992-1996), she holds a PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Waterloo.  As Scientific Coordinator for Organizational Research at the Canadian Workplace Automation Research Centre (1985-1988), her work focused on the human and organizational impacts of information technologies.   Highly experienced in the design, management and analysis of survey-based and impact assessment studies, she possesses particular expertise in measurement issues in quantitative research.  Equally versed in qualitative research, she has conducted many studies using in-depth interview and focus group methodologies.  She is an experienced project manager and team leader.   

Lorna Heaton, Senior Research Associate 

Dr Heaton is associate professor in the Department of Communications at the University of Montreal.  She holds a PhD in Communications from the Université de Montréal. Her research focuses on organizational and interorganizational issues in the implementation and use of information and communication technologies. She has held a number of research contracts , including the evaluation of organizational requirements for information retrieval and personalization, organizational culture during periods of intense change, and optimization of Web 2.0 and Wiki configurations.  From 1997 to 1999 she was a post-doctoral fellow in the Communication and Journalism Department of the University of New Mexico conducting research on technology transfer, with Everett M Rogers.  She has previously worked in Japan and Africa.  With Infotelmed, Lorna has conducted evaluation research in communications and videoconferencing associated with the Telenephro project, which involved evaluation of the impact of a tele-hemodialysis project on patients and personnel, including costs and clinical aspects.  She was most recently engaged with Infotelmed in evaluating the Nunavut  telehealth network project.

 Sarah Hodgson, Marketing Associate 

For 6 years, Sarah Hodgson was involved in marketing packaged goods, in the capacity of a Product Manager  for a number of reputable organizations such as Nestle Canada Inc, Mark Anthony Brands and Ernest & Julio Gallo Winery. Sarah has had extensive experience in developing business plans, market studies, short and long term marketing plans, promotional programming, budget management, new product launches, new product development, and repackaging projects. In addition, Sarah has been involved in both public relations campaigns and event management. At Infotelmed, Sarah has conducted studies of the Telehealth Industry in Canada and has been a major contributor to a study completed for Industry Canada co-authored with the  Keston Group.  She also provides expert advice in the development of marketing strategies.  Sarah holds a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University and a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University.
