Working with colleague Luiz Esteves and members of the Canadian aboriginal community, Infotelmed has been invited to assist in the planning of a number of Canada-Brazil telehealth exchange activities involving aboriginal communities. This involves meeting indigenous representatives of the Amazon region in Brazil to help facilitate knowledge exchange, meetings and future e-health projects between Brazil and Canada.

Such exchange activities permit knowledge transfer about successful e-health and telehealth experiences, programs and projects serving the aboriginal population.  Canada has had an extensive experience in this regard while Brazilian indigenous projects are just beginning. Many similarities between the two countries assure the transferability of models and solutions.  To symbolize and facilitate e-health and e-learning exchanges a Canadian not-for-profit organization, e-KSS, has been formed and a number of telehealth exchange activities are underway including the first phase of a CIDA project.
